Surgery and recovery of Lasik

This a follow up of my surgery and recovery of getting lasik. I had my surgery done a little while ago. Had to buy couple of antibiotic kind of drops which cost a lot even off of insurance. But you do need them. You use 1 drops starting I believe the day or two days before the surgery. The day of surgery you go in when it’s your time, I tell you it is so quick and pain free, but there is bit of discomfort and pressure. Besides that you cant see when they are operating on you. It is quite amazing, well also since they block off one eye. The procedure is about 20 – 25 minutes and once you are done the doctors examines your eyes and sends you home with set of rules that you must follow.

Okay so the day when you go home you’re suppose to rest for few hours no going anywhere or looking at anything. Take a nap or sleep. And also put eye drops as directed.

You do see much clearer. Follow the exact directions your doctors told you. Also stock up on the “NON-PRESERVATIVES” eye drops because if you try to be a smart ass like me and get the one ones w/o it will mess with your eyes. My eyes were so dry and vision was bad for few weeks because I was using the drops in bottle rather than the preservative free individual vials. Also get Soothe XP Emollient drops, you are allowed to use them, but still ask your doctor for your own eyes just in case. For me these have worked wonders in keeping them moisturized along with the reg. drops and intake fish oils. Along with this use heat pack for eyes to keep them from loosing moisture.

I have been following this regime strictly and slowly by slowly my vision is getting better, clearer and my eyes are healing nicely. It is very important to take care of your eyes once you have them operated.

I think it is def. worth the money but remember your eyes get very very dry especially in winter. Which can very much so impact your vision and make it blurry. So keep them very hydrated and it takes time for them to heal so just be patient and don’t freak out.
