How James Bay and reality collide

When it comes to reality and life, there is nothing more telling than a song. When I came across this song I didn’t expect having to live through it. Life has its own challenges and story to tell regardless of what I plan and the way I try to live.

One thing I have learnt though, is to not plan too much and to “just let it be”

It’s like having to go through this song and still hoping something else may be. It’s like having to try to prove yourself to someone you’re dating that is so insecure, that it doesn’t even matter. When you tell the truth , but they still don’t believe you regardless of your reassurance. It’s like you are talking to a wall. They listen to everyone else around them b/ you or pick on one thing and hang on to it. Cause for complete utter fall out.. Where do you leave your partner, but to be and stand alone, fighting battles themselves. How do you build a relationship with so many insecurities, grudges and no communication.

I am not perfect, never said I was. How many things can I ever try to clarify, but you still question me like I am always a suspect. Yet you never questioned me twice when I stopped responding. ..

 

5 Ways to overcome Negative Thoughts 

I don’t care how positive of a person you are, once in a while everyone is bound to go to that deep dark place. I’ve been there well too many times.  I am going to provide you with 5 steps that is going to help you.

Everyone has a way that works to get out of negativity. It works differently for everyone . But the following are few ways that are known top ways to help move your mind forward.  It’s not going to one, two easy but reputation will work.

1. MOVE /Movement :

This one I think is pretty tough. When we are down and depressed, we tend to sit and stall in one place. It’s hard to move and your thoughts are way to heavy. You must physically get up and walk away from that quick sand. Get out of the house or wherever you are . Just move, it gets your blood flowing creating a sense of freedom.

2. Music

Music really is the gateway to the soul. Listen to uplifting, inspirational music. Give it about 20 minutes to kick in. Lie down on the floor and put your headphones on. Go outside and sit down and just listen to good music that will soothe your soul. I always found music to heal me, whether I was angry, down, sad or really not able to move. It just puts a sealant on your soul.

3. Write

This step has been always been one of my favorites. When you are down or going through anything in life, we actually need to let all those emotions out. It’s hard to speak to a friend, family member or even someone you really truly trust. Sometimes you just dont want to talk to anyone, that is the beauty of writing. Get a journal, or make one online b/ make it private. You can also pull up your notes app on the phone and just start writing. Write your true and raw feelings, emotions, every bit and piece that you are experiencing, that you would not fully disclose to anyone. This will help to clear your soul.

4. Get out and about

This part is kind of difficult, because you really don’t want be around anyone. It is really important for you to get out and be around the world. You do not need to talk to anyone, but you need to walk, move, breathe and experience different settings. Even if it’s to go to a park, mall, library, walk on the streets, coffee shop. Just go. Get out and be in the world, do not engage, but be there. You will notice, the change in your mind, when you are observing the world, looking around, breathing, feeling, and just seeing a bigger picture. It will get you distracted, even if it is temporarily.

5. Last but not least, Feed yourself positive thoughts

What I mean by this is quiet simple. At one point, I had so much clutter in my head that I could not breathe. I was walking outside, it wasn’t feeling that great still. All of a sudden, I started to tell myself positive things. I told myself that I am strong, brave and amazing. I just kept chanting these few words in my head over and over again. Within a few minutes, my mind started to clear. I started to breathe, and felt relieved. Whatever your mantra is, you make it and you tell yourself.

There are many things you can do to de-stress yourself, get out of the negative space and be an amazing person. These I believe are the top 5, which have always time to time helped me till today. I am not ashamed to say I have downfalls, that I am emotional, because that’s what being a human is. We are emotional creatures, may one thing be more overtaking on our soul than others, but we are run by emotions.

Thursday Throwback Lesson:Decisions

Time to time I will be including some life lessons and experiences that I have faced, along with solution. It is here to be a guidance for you. To hopefully read and feel my truth and honesty and not make the same mistake.

Today’s throwback lesson is about: Making your own decision~

I know that this is the simplest thing, I can throw at you right now. But sometimes I feel that the most difficult things in life are the most simplest. It is a contradiction on its own. I always felt like I made my own decisions and followed and lived the way I wanted to, because I never like to go with the flow and just like to do what I do. But this year, it has been one of the biggest eye opening years for me, as far as this goes.

We rely on people that surround us, may it be our friends, or family to guide us, show our best interest, be unbiased, or maybe bias, and support us. Most of all, help us to make the right decisions when we are facing some sort of consequence, whether at work, with an incident, relationship, etc. It is just normal, natural and human.

But I have come to realize in the most difficult way, that part being my fault, and part being those I was and am surrounded by to have perhaps guiding me the wrong way to their own intentions. I cannot blame them fully, because of my hurt. I have to realize this. This is exactly why I am writing this article.

I was in a relationship, and because of something so minor, I was afraid of making past mistakes so I turned to some close to me for advise. I should have probably handled the situation according to the person I am, and how I handle things, but I looked to others for better decision making. Along with other factors, these played a huge role for this relationship to end and also not the proper way.

When I also went to make things right second time around, I again, went to all those around me for decisions and support. When I knew myself what I was doing, and going to do.

Because of this, I was not able to speak my truth, not be myself and left thinking things would be okay. But When you get together to fix a situation and not talk about the situation, what is anyone really suppose to think.

As you can see, it has become nothing but a blame game, regrets and much of anything else but a heavy heart and hurt that never got soothed.

Lesson Learnt:

Although you have people around you for support and guidance. I think that it is so very important to sit down with yourself and try to think with a clear open mind, about the situation. Talk to yourself, listen, and be authentic to yourself. Do not get distracted by outside noise, people around you mean well, or may not , I do not know. I assume the best most of the time. But that does not mean they are best decision makers, especially for you. You can perhaps listen to someone who may not be bias, or jumps to conclusions, creates different scenarios in their mind. This is very difficult to find .

In the end, best is to first of COMMUNICATE and be transparent. After that if things do not work out then that’s a different story. But always be the end decision maker for yourself, never be persuaded by friends or family, but do listen.

I have to say that through out all the make up looks I’ve done there are only a handful few that I am so in love with. This look below is one of my favorites. Being that I have makeup on, it’s not a lot b/ it looks so chic yet sexy at the same time while not being overpowering.

I love smashbox ‘s Full Exposure palate, especially for eye contouring and smoky look. It gives the most earthy and blended out results. For this look I used 3 color on the bottom row for lid and crease the 5th on the bottom row.

Mascara’s, I am starting to realize are so important. Not all mascara’s are alike. I have a few favorite after trying the whole world. B/ here is the one I used.

 This is also by Smashbox, X-rated . It gives the most fanned out, voluminous, full effect, and also not clumpy.

 

As for lips:

This is an awsome nude when paired with its component lip gloss

Make a Fall Statement with elegance

Summer is already over, but it is tough to transition into season now days without the dramatic climate changes.

Everyone has their own style. I am not a millionaire or a diva. But hell I love to look my best. You never know who you might run into, so make sure you are always dressed to impress. NYC streets are full of ideas and inspiration. I do not like to blend in, but I do not want to stand out in a weird way.

Here I like to use lots of earthy colors in fall; your maroons, greens, browns, grays. You can also go bright with yellow, orange and reds. Be free to mix up the look, all the colors I have stated will flow beautifully together. Get inspired by nature around you. It is hard for people to dress up, I get it. Sometimes, it just doesn’t click. Also, depending on your skin color, certain shades or colors can dull you or make you look too blended/washed out. For this, take notice to what your peers compliment and for the colors you get the most those are your best looks.

Best trend and simple to follow right now is get a military colors, throw in some browns and nice army styled jacket pair with an accessory. I love scarfs I feel so complete with them, along with great boots.

Big pointer, don’t matchy match too much. If most of your outfit is same color make sure one accessory is different so you are not camouflaged.

Also, beware of your body type. It is important to see what flatters your figure and does not make you look like you’re seeping through your clothing or hiding in them. Patterns, also help when you are trying to disguise or show off your best assets.
